About the Sports Potential Assessment

The Sports Potential Assessment has been developed working closely with National Sport Governing Bodies and collegiate and professional sports organizations. Through the testing of elite athletes in over 50 sports and 100 disciplines and positions, Sports Potential scientists and statisticians have identified sport-by-sport profiles. Using these elite athlete based profiles and peer group test data, Sports Potential has developed a unique modeling process to accurately gauge potential in over fifty sports.

The Sports Potential Assessment is a combination of customer focused testing, analysis and referral services. It is specifically designed for customers ages 13 to 65 and at all levels of fitness. The Sports Potential Assessment includes three Assessment modules, which will be analyzed together to create your Sports Potential Diagnostic and Results.

Module I: Personal and Family History Questionnaires:

The Personal and Family History Questionnaires, which you will self-administer at www.sportspotential.com, will provide certain specifics about you, your family, and your current participation in sports and physical training that are important in completing your Sports Potential Assessment. The information you provide in answering the questionnaires will be used in analyzing and computing your Sports Potential Diagnostic and Results. Personal information such as gender, ethnicity and age represent important data points in determining body type formulations and in developing the appropriate peer group comparisons presented in your Sports Potential Diagnostic and Results.

Module II: ABC (Affective-Behavioral-Cognitive) Evaluations and Preferences:

The answers you give to the ABC Evaluations in Module II provide Sports Potential with critical components based on your personality and preferences that are used in determining your sports match. These evaluations are designed to gather information about your perceptions of your sports related abilities, your preferences when it comes to sports, and your attitudes about participation in competitive sports. Your answers will be analyzed in relationship to a data base of responses from elite athletes and coaches in a variety of sports.

Module III: Physical and Physiological Battery of Tests and Measurements:

The Physical and Physiological Battery of Tests and Measurements includes approximately 30 different tests and measurements. The exact number varies by age and gender. Many of the tests and measurements contain multiple trials. These multiple trials have been instituted in order to obtain the most reliable and scientifically accurate results. The entire battery of tests and measurements generates up to 81 data points.
